Contemporary Art

Archipelago Centre Korpoström cooperates with the local artprojects “AARK – Archipelago Artist Residency Korpo” and “Bare Foot Path“. Both have representatives in the Programme committee, that plans exhibitions and other programme . In the exhibitions and activities at the Archipelago Centre science, nature, art and culture meet.

Contemporary Art 2021

The “Diving Bell” is an installation by Joachim Granit and part of the main exhibition “Piscatus – Fish and Man”. You can find the Diving Bell in the main exhibition hall on the 2nd floor.

Contemporary Art 2019

During the summer of 2019 the Archipelago Centre Korpoström  was one of the art scenes for contemporary art being produced within the art residency co-operation “Between Islands | AARK – Kökar – Örö”

The following artists and their works were exhibited:

Marco Dessardo: “PunkTerhi390”, sculpture, main exhibition hall as part of the main exhibition “Out to Sea? The Plastic Garbage Project”.

  • Renja Leino: “Generations of Joy”, video works, as part of the main exhibition “Out to Sea? The Plastic Garbage Project”.
  • Elisa Matikainen (Kökar): working title: “Plastic Rain / Sleeping Catastrophy”, installation, main hall.

  • Maria Windschüttel: “LUOTO (Space Oddity)”, foto art capturing the artist’s chalk drawings on sea side rocks and cliffs, on facade of the main building.
