Mikko Perkola: viola da gamba, recitation, vocals and electronics
Henrik Sandås: bandoneon

Through folk music’s timeless themes of love, betrayal, fidelity and transformation, the Maans–Perkola–Sandås Trio invites audiences on a journey into the depths of the human soul, where music, storytelling, mythology and poetry are woven into a harmonious whole. Universal stories of inner conflict, transformation and enlightenment unfold through expressive and deeply personal interpretations. The trio explores these inner landscapes with openness and sensitivity, allowing every note and every word to contribute to a deeper understanding of the human condition and the soul. The power of music becomes not only a means of understanding the world, but also a way of experiencing and expressing what is otherwise difficult to capture in words.

The fiddle tunes, ballads and love songs of Finland-Swedish folk music spring from a shared Nordic tradition, yet they also form a distinctive musical expression with a unique voice and character. With heart at the centre of their performance, the trio’s versatile artistry brings both mythological folk songs and nuanced instrumental pieces to life, culminating in music marked by expressiveness, beauty and sensitivity.
